ISA 428 MkII incorporates four of Focusrite's renowned mic pres in a simple-to-operate 2U enclosure, placing four mic preamps, instrument inputs and line ins at your fingertips. The original Focusrite mic pre was designed to suit the microphones of the time; today's model makes one small change, adding three additional input impedances to the classic ISA 110 setting, allowing you to match any microphone, old or new, and access a wide range of sounds, from the character and warmth of a vintage mic to the clear transparency of a modern design.
Each mic pre has the option of mic, line or the front-panel instrument input, with variable input impedance to ensure you are getting the best performance from the source. Up to 60dB of gain is available on the four-position rotary and gain range switches, with a further +20dB of continuously variable trim, meaning a huge 80dB of gain is available should it be required. The high-pass filter features variable cut-off frequency between 16 and 420Hz. An array of 6-segment LED meters show peak signal level for the four mic pres, in addition to the four direct inputs to the optional A-D card. Switchable rear-panel insert points allow the use of inline processors such as compression.
Featuring a rugged, portable all-metal enclosure, ISA One combines the classic Focusrite microphone preamp with a flexible, independent DI channel and optional 192kHz precision A-D conversion. At the heart of the ISA range is the microphone preamplifier with its Lundahl input transformer – essentially the same circuit, based on the original ISA 110, that has been used for 30 years in successive Focusrite designs. The input transformer imparts a special character to the sound that can't be truly emulated in any other way, while the modern twist of variable input impedance allows for a new degree of flexibility.
Whether you're an artist, engineer or producer, you'll appreciate the versatility of the ISA One, with its front-panel DI input. The DI includes low/high impedance switching and an amplifier output, and its own feed to the optional A-D converter and separate rear-panel XLR output.
The ISA One is Dante-enabled with the new ISA ADN2 Dante option card
The Millennia HV-316 is a cutting-edge 16-channel remote-control Ethernet mic preamp designed for adverse environments and mission-critical applications such as live touring rigs, scoring stages, remote recording trucks, sample houses, hot-rack installs, schools, churches, networked music venues, location recording, outdoor facilities, and multi-room studio complexes. The HV-316’s road-ready, lightweight military-spec aluminum 1U chassis houses 16 channels of legendary Millennia HV-3 mic preamps with simultaneous analog and Dante 32-bit/192kHz Ethernet outputs.
Extensive RF shielding is provided on audio and digital feeds to eliminate the possibility of cellular interference. Designed to withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 150° F, the HV-316 can be powered by both 12VDC and worldwide 90–240V AC with fail-safe operation. The HV-316’s medical-grade, redundant power supply is rated for 650,000 hours MTBF operation. If one power supply fails, the other supply continues operating without audio glitches.
Millennia remote preamps can seamlessly operate on a single Ethernet network — up to 384 redundant audio channels — letting you remotely control Gain, Polarity, Pad, Mute, channel Linking, HPF, and selectable ribbon or phantom paths on every channel. You also have unlimited scene recall scripting and virtual scribble-strips.
The HV-316 uses 16 channels of meticulously integrated, next-generation AKM 192kHz A/D converters, multi-paralleled for extreme dynamic range performance and acclaimed Millennia sonics. All internal processing is achieved via a generic plug-and-play Linux Beagle processor to ensure non-obsolescence and easy field replacement. To say that engineers at Sweetwater are impressed with the Millennia HV-316 would be an understatement. With its bulletproof build, audiophile sonics, and innovative remote control capabilities, it’s a stunning technological achievement.
The ISA 828MkII incorporates eight of Focusrite's classic mic preamps, with Lundahl LL1538 transformers on every input. Each channel has the option of mic or line inputs, while inputs 1-4 also feature instrument inputs on the front panel. Each mic pre has variable input impedance, to provide a range of subtly different sonic options when using microphones, including an 'ISA 110' setting, which replicates the impedance of the original Focusrite mic pre.
Up to 60dB of gain is available, with a further +20dB of continuously variable trim, providing a huge 80dB gain range. The high-pass filter has a fixed 75Hz frequency and 18dB / octave roll-off for minimising rumble, stand-borne noise and other low-frequency sounds. The ISA 828 MkII also features per-channel,six-segment LED meters, and switchable rear-panel insert points, which allow the use of inline processors such as compressors or EQs.
Dedicated connectors for mic and line-level inputs allow all sources to be connected simultaneously, making ISA 828 MkII perfect for permanent installation in a rack. A switching power supply allows for efficient, cool operation, without sacrificing sound quality or performance, and increasing reliability over its predecessor. The optional ISA ADN8 analogue-to-digital expansion card provides eight Dante, ADAT and AES3 outputs at sampling rates of up to 24-bit / 192kHz.
Third party applications that use Dante Ready™ allow customers to purchase and activate Dante audio channels after installation using the Dante Activator tool in Dante Controller 4.5 or higher. Dante Activator is tied to an active Audinate user account and accepts standard credit card payments.
