The X-EDAI Ethernet Control expansion card has two IP network ports: While the 100 Mbps Ethernet port provides control and DSP access for the IPA installation power amplifiers, the second port can be used to transmit and receive four incoming and four outgoing Dante audio channels. The configuration and routing of the Dante audio channels is done as standard in the Audinate Dante Controller software.

Via the QUESTRA® software, system integrators can access all DSP settings of the IPA installation power amplifier. The European builds on Glensound’s extensive experience in providing reliable audio solutions to national parliaments since 1995. It supports all network connections via Dante, with a central DSP core for advanced functions and control. The system allows for multiple I/O interfaces, including mic and speaker connections, card readers for MP identification, and integration of voting panels. Hardware control panels, tailored to each environment, are a key feature of the European, offering precise audio management, voting capabilities, and seamless compatibility with bespoke furniture designs.
The system’s integration goes beyond just audio. The European addresses the common challenges of historic buildings – large open spaces, with multiple microphone sources and speakers. Audio delay is measured from each single microphone to every single speaker. This delay then dynamically switches as any microphone is identified as the priority, maintaining a balanced sound throughout the chamber and eliminating unwanted delay that could colour the audio.
Glensound also incorporated a frequency shifter into the European that actively prevents feedback, further increasing the intelligibility of the system.
This is the first of a new generation of the industry standard, DARK Dante/AES67 interfaces. The DARK DAWN range of interfaces are multichannel analogue and AES input/output devices intended to be installed in a studio setting where cosmetic appearance is important.
The DARK DAWN 1616M has 16 analogue inputs, and 16 analogue outputs. The inputs are mic/line/ 48v switchable. Channel gain can be adjusted from the front panel or remotely via GlenController (Dante version) with UDP control via a separate network connection also possible.
The front LED panel is machined from a single block of aluminium with no screwheads or connectors visible. It includes 16 individual channel meters, a single hi-res meter for setting individual channel level and a 1/4” headphone socket for the monitoring of all input or output channels. The Model 5682 units are a specialized interface that allows two independent audio-over-Ethernet networks to be interconnected. One network supports the applicable SMPTE® ST 2110 standards while the other network supports Dante®. Two versions are available. The Model 5682-01 allows linking (in each direction) of up to 32 ST 2110-30 audio channels (at 48 kHz sample rate) with 32 Dante channels (at 44.1 or 48 kHz sample rate) or 16 Dante channels (at 88.2 or 96 kHz sample rate). The Model 5682-02 allows linking (in each direction) of up to 64 ST 2110-30 audio channels (at 48 kHz sample rate) with 64 Dante channels (at 44.1 or 48 kHz sample rate) or 32 Dante channels (at 88.2 or 96 kHz sample rate). The Dante interfaces support AES67 and the Dante Domain Manager™ application. Each unit mounts in one space (1U) of a 19-inch rack and is powered by 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz. Units can also be powered by an external source of 12 Vdc.

Quantum OUT32AT output card for Quantum Ultra II videowall processors that provides direct connection to Dante® systems. It delivers up to 32 stereo pairs of digital audio from a videowall system to a Dante audio network. Audio for each Dante stereo pair can originate from a source connected to an Extron Quantum IN4FOX3 or Quantum IN4HDMI 4K PLUS input card. Alternatively, it can follow the active program audio for any of up to 20 available canvases. A single Quantum OUT32AT output card can support an entire Quantum Ultra II system, simplifying audio management and videowall design.
Third party applications that use Dante Ready™ allow customers to purchase and activate Dante audio channels after installation using the Dante Activator tool in Dante Controller 4.5 or higher. Dante Activator is tied to an active Audinate user account and accepts standard credit card payments.
