Tannoy – VNET2-Dante Bridge

The VNET2-Dante Bridge is a standalone device available from Tannoy, designed to facilitate integration of VNET2 products such as QFlex with Dante digital audio networks. It is powered via PoE, or alternatively by an optional extra 12 V power supply.  The VNET2-Dante Bridge is a standalone device available from Tannoy, designed to facilitate integration of VNET2 products such as QFlex with Dante digital audio networks. It is powered via PoE, or alternatively by an optional extra 12 V power supply.  Dante is an audio networking technology developed by Audinate. It allows many channels of uncompressed digital audio, and control data to be conveyed down a standard Ethernet network. The VNET2 Dante Bridge allows VNET2 devices to be seamlessly integrated into Dante systems with the minimum of fuss. Analog outputs also allow the Dante Bridge to be used with products that do not have VNET2 Interfaces, such as 1st generation VNET speakers and SC1 controllers. The three primary uses for the Dante Bridge are:
  • Dante audio to AES3 conversion with VNET control (for use with VNET2 equipped products – currently only Tannoy QFlex)
  • Conversion of Dante audio to analogue audio with VNET™ control (for use with VNET equipped products)
  • Conversion of Dante audio to analogue audio (for Dante break-out to any product with analogue inputs)

Model RU- NL4P operates from PoE. The RU-NL4 is a high quality Dante network to line level interface. The RU-NL4 converts four Dante network audio channels to +4 dBu balanced professional line level. The front panel features signal LEDs that indicate audio presence for each of the received network signal channels. Balanced +4 dBu audio levels correspond to a network digital audio level of -18 dBFS. The noise floor is better than 80 dB below operating level. Crosstalk is below the noise floor between all outputs across the entire audio spectrum. The RU-NL4 is also available in a PoE version (RU-NL4P). If PoE power and an external 24 Vdc supply are both feeding an RU-NL4P, the unit will run from the external supply and will seamlessly switch over to PoE power upon loss of the external supply.

RDL – RU-BNFP

The RU-BNF is a high quality bi-directional interface that converts three Dante channels to RDL Format-A and one Dante channel to balanced AUX output. It also converts three Format-A pairs and one AUX input to Dante channels. The RU-BNF is compatible with Format-A twisted-pair end-points. Model RU-BNFP operates from PoE. The RU-BNF is a high quality bi-directional interface that converts three Dante channels to RDL Format-A and one Dante channel to a balanced AUX output. It also converts three Format-A pairs and one AUX input to Dante channels. The RU-BNF is compatible with RDL Format-A twisted-pair end-point products. RDL’s Format-A system utilizes the 4 pairs of a standard CATx cable; 3 pairs (pairs A, B and C) are designated for sending and receiving audio and the fourth pair is used to distribute 24 Vdc to connected Format-A products.  The RU-BNF provides signal presence metering and is equipped to power connected Format-A endpoints. The RU-BNF is also available in a PoE version (RU-BNFP). If PoE power and an external 24 Vdc supply are both feeding an RU-BNFP, the unit will run from the external supply and will seamlessly switch over to PoE power upon loss of the external supply.
