The MAX-AI-DA is a Dante™ Audio with HDMI 2.0 ports input card for Media Axis™ supporting 4K/60 4:4:4 resolutions and Dante™/AES67 IP audio. Each MAX-AI-DA has primary and secondary RJ-45 ports for IP audio, four HDMI ports, and four stereo unbalanced analog ports. Media Axis is the world's only 4K60 cross platform, multi frame size matrix system with Dante and AV over IP connectivity.
MX2M-AUX-DANTE-32CH is a Dante and AES67 compatible input and output board for the MX2M modular matrix family. The hot-swappable IO board is seen as two distinct Dante devices from the Dante network.
Each Dante card can simultaneously send and receive 16 mono audio channels from the Dante network it is connected to via its 1GbE connectors. This makes the board capable of sending and receiving 2 x 16 mono audio channels from the same or different Dante domains with the same or different sampling frequencies.
The received audio is made available to all video and audio outputs over the audio layer of the matrix as LPCM audio streams. Similarly, the audio sent to the Dante network can originate from any of the video or audio inputs of the matrix carrying LPCM audio.
The board supports redundant operation mode where the same stream is received or transmitted over a Primary and a Secondary Ethernet connector.
AX32 already support 64 channels of Dante IP Audio via an optional module, but in an effort to meet demand for an even higher channel count, our an optional expansion card adds another 128 channels to your digital audio-routing matrix.
Further, with eight slots available for expansion cards, you could ultimately have up to 1,088 Dante/AES67 channels, including the 64 channels that comes as standard, at 48 kHz.
The Dante expansion card also offers sample rate conversion on all channels as well as dual redundancy network ports in order to maximize reliability, reducing the risk of losing valuable production time.
Independent Sample Rate Conversion
The Dante expansion card features per-card sample rate conversion, which by using more cards allows several independent audio networks that run on individual clocks and sample rates to be connected to and unified in a single AX32 unit.
This naturally unleashes a wealth of possibilities for distributing audio across sources and destinations on highly complex setups that e.g. involve sending a feed to an OB truck, while recording at a different sample rate and sending yet another feed to a FOH console or an in-ear monitoring system.
Simply adding more Dante channels may sound trivial, but once you start to think about the actual problems that this amount of channels in combination with independent sample rate conversion is capable of solving, it’s a quite significant improvement of the overall system.
For instance, the new Dante card will immediately be able to solve real-world challenges in regard to high channel counts when working with Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite, as well as in recording studios where Dante based monitoring systems are used, but there is a need to record at a different sample rate or in Live applications where there Dante networks have to be kept physically separated when operating on different clocks.
The internal sample rate converters on the new Dante cards have been developed in-house and we have never compromised on the quality of our AD/DA converters – or internal sample rate conversion within the digital domain. ‘Digital’ is simply part of our brand name and we take that very seriously!

Details
The Dante card can operate either as a single 128x128 channel interface with a switch for the two Ethernet connectors or redundantly, where the two Ethernet connecters are connected to different networks each carrying 128x128 channels. If more cards are installed, each card can be connected to a different network or more cards can be connected to the same network via an external Ethernet switch or by bridging the network between the cards when operating in non-redundant mode.
The Dante card can operate in Dante mode or AES67 mode with support for discovery via SAP. In Dante mode, Dante Domain Manager (DDM) is supported for enhanced network management functionality. Configuration of the card is managed via DADman.
Installing a Wohler unit with the Dante hardware option into an existing and functioning Dante network is virtually plug and play. The rear panel AoIP jack supports 1Gb/s and 100Mb/s Ethernet devices in Dante Audio over IP network configurations. Channel source selections are made by choosing Input Type ‘AoIP’ in the Configuration-Configure Presets page regardless of which AoIP option is installed. The iAM-series unit is set up at the Wohler factory to be used as a slave rather than a master within the Dante network. Other devices or software, such as a Dante Controller, are expected to be responsible for most device configurations and all audio routing.

The 64-channel 48 kHz bi-directional audio interface brings even more I/O options to the WING by making it ready for integration with Dante enabled IP networks. Dante is a proprietary AoIP solution from Audinate, which also complies with the AES67 standard for improved interoperability. It uses either standard 100Mbit/s or Gigabit Network infrastructure with DSCP-based QoS, with support for mixed sample and bit rates coexisting on the same network. The WING-DANTE card utilizes 24-bit signal transmission with sample-accurate synchronization and low latency, ensuring the highest audio integrity. Its secondary input allows you to set up a seamless, redundant network access.

The DiGiCo DMI-DANTE64@96 allows 64 channels in and 64 channels out at both 48kHz and 96kHz. It has a Primary and a Secondary port, both of which are Ethercon ports, and an RJ45 Control port. The card has two modes that can be changed in Dante Controller. In Switched Mode, the three ports are switched together. In redundant mode, the Control and Primary ports shall be switched together and work as a redundant pair with the Secondary port, each having separate IP addresses so that if the primary connection fails, the secondary connection will take over.
