Apollo provides unsurpassed processing power and a control surface with displays, touch screens and light-emitting knobs which detail function and status.
Apollo provides unsurpassed processing power and a control surface with displays, touch screens and light-emitting knobs which detail function and status. Apollo utilises Bluefin2, the next generation of Bluefin HDSP, which provides unrivalled resources of up to 1020 channel processing paths, 128 program busses, 96 IFB/Track outputs and 48 auxes. With single and dual fader options, Apollo can squeeze in more faders into a single footprint that any other console, and its integrated router provides total network flexibility. Apollo’s I/O functions are performed by the Hydra2 network, which uses high capacity 8192² cross-point routers and a variety of I/O units.
The twin sister of Apollo in Greek mythology, Artemis is based on the award-winning Apollo platform. Available in three sizes and utilising the same Bluefin2 and Hydra2 technologies, Artemis has an enormous routing and processing capacity.
The twin sister of Apollo in Greek mythology, Artemis is based on the award-winning Apollo platform. Available in three sizes and utilising the same Bluefin2 and Hydra2 technologies, Artemis has an enormous routing and processing capacity. Bluefin2 gives Artemis Light 240 channel processing paths, with up to 128 program busses, 64 IFB/Track outputs and 32 auxiliaries. Artemis Light packs all this into a 4U enclosure. Artemis’ integrated router means all I/O functions can be performed by Hydra2, using the same high capacity cross-point router technology and a variety of I/O units.

Hydra2 provides seamless, scalable audio networking of audio mixing consoles with routers and I/O interfaces, allowing for a large numbers of inputs and outputs to be shared and controlled irrespective of location.
Hydra2 provides seamless, scalable audio networking of audio mixing consoles with routers and I/O interfaces, allowing for a large numbers of inputs and outputs to be shared and controlled irrespective of location. Hydra2 does not compromise audio quality, performs with negligible latency and is founded on comprehensive, built-in fault detection and redundancy. Many of the world’s most successful broadcasters rely on Hydra2 infrastructure for live on-air application in both fixed and mobile installations every day.
At the heart of Hydra2 is the 8192² Calrec router (4096² on Summa and Artemis Light). Networks become more advanced when multiple routers are connected together to add additional mixing consoles, or to increase the amount of I/O connections available. Routers, mixing consoles and I/O can all be easily connected to the network as and when needed.
Hydra2 provides 1-to-n routing; input sources may be routed to any number of destinations in mixed formats, removing the need for external splits, distribution amplifiers and format convertors. Sources can be routed to multiple consoles, to multiple DSP inputs on each console and directly to output destinations all at the same time.
I/O units connect to a Hydra2 router via a single Cat5e or fibre link and can carry 512 channels of 24 bit 48KHz audio in each direction simultaneously, along with control and error detection data. Bandwidth between routers can be increased in multiples of 512 channels by adding additional Hydra2 links between them.
As with all Calrec products, audio quality and product reliability are our top concerns. All analogue pre-amps and line level paths are designed around our well proven and highly respected circuitry, providing very high headroom with a very low noise floor. Our lossless proprietary network transportation protocol does not compromise the high audio quality and maintains minimal latency.
Calrec’s elegant Summa console is designed for broadcast professionals who need to produce creative and engrossing broadcast audio easily, but may not require as many resources as Calrec’s Apollo and Artemis consoles.
Calrec’s elegant Summa console is designed for broadcast professionals who need to produce creative and engrossing broadcast audio easily, but may not require as many resources as Calrec’s Apollo and Artemis consoles. Control is via a 17-inch multitouch screen inspired by familiar tablet technology, with a straightforward interface that uses established finger gestures to navigate the system. Summa’s considered control simplifies even complex workflow tasks, such as creating mix-minus feeds. Bluefin2 technology gives the Summa 128 a pool of 128 channel processing paths, eight groups, four mains, 16 auxes, and 32 tracks. Its Hydra2 router core provides Summa with the same integral router technology as the Apollo and Artemis consoles.

Brio is the most powerful and compact digital broadcast audio console in its class. It has a comprehensive broadcast feature set to support a wider breadth of broadcasters, and the same market-leading levels of quality and customer support which Calrec is renowned for.
Brio is the most powerful and compact digital broadcast audio console in its class. It has a comprehensive broadcast feature set to support a wider breadth of broadcasters, and the same market-leading levels of quality and customer support which Calrec is renowned for.
The smallest in Calrec’s Bluefin2 family, Brio’s control surface is unlike any other console. At only 892mm wide with a 36 dual-layer fader surface, Brio is entirely self-contained with analogue and digital I/O, and GPIO, built into the surface. Additional expansion I/O slots are also fitted to allow for further I/O to be connected. A Hydra2 module can be fitted to connect to and share audio over Calrec’s Hydra2 network.
This means Hydra2’s sophisticated management facilities can be utilised for network-wide control, including interfacing with multiple Video and Audio over IP networks such as SMPTE2022, Dante, AES67, Ravenna and Soundgrid. This protects the system against any future formats that may emerge and allows the console to sit on multiple networks simultaneously if desired.
With lots of delay resource, dynamics, integrated talkback, and multiple monitor outputs, Brio is broadcast-ready with no compromise or workarounds.
