The FreeSpeak Edge base station is a standalone 1RU device that provides extensive connectivity to a wide range of Clear-Com endpoints along with third-party Dante devices. The AVN-AH8 multi-channel headphone amplifier is a 1U rack-mount which distributes 2 sets of stereo audio to up to 8 different sets of headphones, fed from the Dante AoIP network. A typical application might be to provide common headphone feeds for guests in a radio studio, coming directly from the AoIP network.
Each output has front panel unbalanced 1/4” & 3.5mm jack sockets and a rotary level control. The front panel potentiometers adjust the headphone volumes from mute (fully anticlockwise) to 0dB of gain when fully clockwise. This is useful if the Dante stream level is low or high and requires adjusting.
There are 8 parallel 1/4” jacks on the rear panel, for ease of wiring if the unit is installed in an enclosed rack.
Each of the 8 professional headphone outputs can each select between 2 stereo Dante sources which are routed via Dante controller. The level of each stereo Dante stream can be adjusted ±12dB using one of the two front panel rotary controls. The unit supports AES67 operation and is Dante Domain Manager compliant.
The AVN-AH8 front panel contains a power (PoE) LED, a DC LED, a network link status LED, and a clock LED. A recessed reset switch is also provided.
The unit is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) or a 12VDC input via a locking 2.5mm DC Input, 2A minimum rating.
Nova supports three main functions. Trinnov’s Optimizer is Nova’s main feature – Trinnov’s exclusive room correction and acoustic optimization technology. Nova can process and optimize up to six channels, including bass management. More than a digital acoustic processor, Nova is also a monitoring controller. When it comes to sending and receiving extremely large numbers of audio signals over a network, the solution is called: Dante with the Clara E.
Up to 512 bi-directional channels, connection over long distances through low-cost network cables and infrastructure, samplerates of up to 192 kHz, auto-configuration – all these advantages of the Dante protocol are now available with the Clara E at an amazingly low price. In contrast to virtual solutions, the Clara E offers the security of redundancy with 2 separate network ports and latencies down to 1 ms in connection with the reliable PCIe interface.
The continuously enhanced driver includes multi-client support for ASIO 2.2 as well as multi-channel WDM audio / WASAPI with the lowest latencies in all software environments. This ensures that multiple audio applications can access the sound system simultaneously via the same or different driver interfaces.
Each input signal of the sound system can be adjusted in volume and routed latency-free to any output. The BEAST DSP mixer also sums up to 64 signals to 8 different busses and plays them back on any number of outputs without delay. Furthermore, the BEAST Mixer adds playback signals from any DAW. In each channel of the BEAST mixer there are 4 parametric EQ available for sonic processing.
An optional plug-on module serves as a bridge to the classic audio formats and expands the Clara E with AES/EBU, ADAT or analog interfaces. In the routing and in the Beast Mixer the signals of these interfaces are available as well and can thus be integrated into the Dante network.
If several Clara E are installed in one computer, they are synchronized via the TDM SyncBus and appear as a combined sound system to an ASIO application. In the Beast Mixer, up to 32 audio signals can be exchanged with other Clara sound systems (e.g. Clara Dmaj) and thus also be integrated for use with ASIO.
