The Rane EXP7x Expander for the HAL1x provides eight channels of full-featured, drag and drop Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC). Each channel of AEC can be added to any HAL1x system input and route to any Halogen DSP block, including the gain-sharing automixer, manual mixer, regular Room Combine block, or Conference Room Combine block. The Rane EXP7x Expander for the HAL1x provides eight channels of full-featured, drag and drop Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC). Each channel of AEC can be added to any HAL1x system input and route to any Halogen DSP block, including the gain-sharing automixer, manual mixer, regular Room Combine block, or Conference Room Combine block. Chain up to 32 EXP7x units to a HAL1x for 256 assignable AEC channels. Because EXP7x AEC channels are not associated with a particular hardware input, preset recall can re-assign an AEC resource across inputs / rooms as required. Drag and drop AEC supports the typical one-AEC-per-microphone configuration. With optimum acoustics, mic and loudspeaker placement, or with rarely used mics (such as audience mics) it allows mixing more than one mic into a single AEC channel, significantly reducing cost.

Option boards allow 4K/HD/SD switchable signals using copper cables or fibre optical cables with SFP+ transceiver or 10GBASE-T connections, with audio mux and demux options. Status LEDs on the front panel of the unit allow real-time monitoring, with reference input and reference time input and output status provided. Flexible slots for SDI-IP option boards Up to 18 slots in 3RU chassis. 4K/HD/SD switchable signals SDI-IP conversion using variety of interfaces, including 3G-SDI ports. SFP+ transceivers and 10GBASE-T connecter options for fibre optical and copper cables NXLK-IP400F and NXLK-IP450F option boards allow the use of fibre cables up to 10 km and twinax copper cables up to 10 m using SFP+ (Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus) ports. NXLK-IP400T option board allows the use of high-grade copper cables up to 100 m using 10GBASE-T ports. NXLK-IP45F option board provides support for Dante.

Dedicated DSP is available for each input and output, including gain, filtering, dynamics, automixing, virtual returns, and expansion capabilities to another DMP 128 unit or an Extron DTP CrossPoint 4K scaling presentation matrix switcher.
