Dante Controller v4.18.1.2 Package (Windows)

Dante Controller v4.18.1 package is a patch release that addresses issues related to Preset loading and device enrollment in Dante Domain Manager, and provides additional fixes and performance improvements.

The installer includes 4 applications: Dante Controller v4.18.1, Dante Updater v2.9.0, Dante Activator v2.7.2 and Dante Update Helper v1.5.0.

Notes

Installing or Updating Dante Controller

To install Dante Controller you will need to be logged on with administrator privileges.

Note: You do not need to uninstall the previous version before installing this update.

To install Dante Controller:

  1. Ensure you are logged on to your computer as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to and double-click the downloaded Dante Controller installer file.
  3. Read the license agreement. If you agree to the terms, select the ‘I agree’ checkbox and click Install.
  4. If you do not agree to the terms, click Close.
  5. Confirm / acknowledge any Windows security prompts that are displayed.

Dante Controller v4.18.1

  • CS-2180 / ETS-6807: Can’t enroll devices into DDM from DC 4.18
  • CS-2012 / ETS-6058: Preset doesn’t load with Codec parameter
  • CS-2090/ ETS-6529: Preset doesn’t load with Clock Priority parameter
  • CS-2166 / ETS-6583: Tx channel label in XML file causes load preset error

Dante Controller v4.18.1

  • CS-2192: Intermittent internal error occurred when applying preset with RX Flows or TX/RX Channels to IP Core Zynq HC. Workaround: re-run the Apply Preset step.
  • CS-2188: HDMI EDID options for Director-enrolled AV-A devices displayed in Dante Controller are incorrect

Pre-existing known issues (from Dante Controller v4.18.0)

  • CS-1838 / ETS-5954: Closing a remote desktop session can cause DC to crash
  • CM-1432: DDM interop: Dante Controller shows SMPTE clock domains 1, 2 and 3 as sample rate pull-up clock domains in the clocking status tab.

Dante Updater v2.9.0

  • No new known issues

Pre-existing known issues (from Dante Updater v2.8.5)

  • CS-1489: When a firmware file is uploaded in the Library, the device does not immediately display in the Imported Firmware Files section. Workaround: Toggle the network interface on DU to find the imported firmware file.
  • ETS-5541: Dante Updater does not work when a previously selected interface is no longer available
  • ETS-5547: Unable to update using local firmware imported to the Dante Updater Library
  • PP-78: DDM interop: No prompt shown when DDM is down
  • NIMBUS-670: The Select All Button in Library does not react to the search filter

Dante Activator v2.7.2

  • CS-1191: On some systems the Dante Activator application can take up to a minute to launch

Audinate’s Support for Inclusive Language

To our customers: some of the terminology used in Dante products has been changed to align with modern usage. Specifically, areas related to Dante clocking now refer to “Primary Leader Clock”, “Leader Clocks” and “Follower Clocks” to describe the functions of each role more clearly.
