Dante Controller v4.18.0.11 Package (macOS Intel)

Dante Controller v4.18 package is a recommended maintenance release with many minor fixes and improvements.

The installer includes 4 applications: Dante Controller v4.18.0, Dante Updater v2.9.0, Dante Activator v2.7.2 and Dante Update Helper v1.5.0.

This version of Dante Controller is optimised for Intel-based computers, and will not work on Macs with Apple Silicon (M series) hardware.

Notes

Installing or Updating Dante Controller

To install Dante Controller you will need to be logged on with administrator privileges.

Note: You do not need to uninstall the previous version before installing this update.

To install Dante Controller:

  1. Ensure you are logged on to your computer as an administrator.
  2. Double-click the downloaded Dante Controller installer file.
  3. A drive icon will appear on your Desktop Finder window. Double-click it to open.
  4. Double-click the Dante Controller.pkg file. This will run the installer.
  5. Read the license text, and if you accept the terms of the agreement, click Agree.
    If you do not accept these terms, click Disagree to terminate the installation.

  • Customer option to receive beta releases of Dante Controller
  • AES67 flows are sorted by session name alphabetically
  • Type‑ahead filtering added to the Domain Select list
  • Devices on 10 Mbps networks are now highlighted in red in the Matrix and Network View
  • TX and RX flow information can now be dumped to a log file for troubleshooting by Audinate Support

  • Confirmation dialogs now appear more consistently
  • Channel labels longer than 32 characters are now truncated when pasted instead of being rejected

Dante Controller v4.18.0

  • CS-1754: Multicast flows cannot be created on certain resolution monitors
  • CS-1838 / ETS-5954: Closing a remote desktop session can cause DC to crash
  • CS-2055: Unplugged devices may still show link speed warnings
  • CS-2075: Field validation for IP address sometimes fails
  • CS-1930: Flow latency information in the multicast transmit flow field is misleading

Dante Updater v2.9.0

  • CS-1489: When a firmware file is uploaded in the Library, the device does not immediately display in the Imported Firmware Files section. Workaround: Toggle the network interface on DU to find the imported firmware file.
  • ETS-5541: Dante Updater does not work when a previously selected interface is no longer available
  • ETS-5547: Unable to update using local firmware imported to the Dante Updater Library
  • PP-78: DDM interop: No prompt shown when DDM is down
  • NIMBUS-670: The Select All Button in Library does not react to the search filter

Dante Activator v2.7.2

  • CS-1191: On some systems the Dante Activator application can take up to a minute to launch

Audinate’s Support for Inclusive Language

To our customers: some of the terminology used in Dante products has been changed to align with modern usage. Specifically, areas related to Dante clocking now refer to “Primary Leader Clock”, “Leader Clocks” and “Follower Clocks” to describe the functions of each role more clearly.
