Crest Audio, part of the Peavey Electronics family of brands, says the ProTour line of amplifiers includes a choice of four models.

Some of the options built into ProTour line of amps include a powerful DSP engine with sampling rates as high as 24-bit/96kHz and high-performance 24-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) and digital-to-analog (D/A) converters.

Crest Audio explains that through the amplifiers’ internal DSP options, professional integrators have the ability to configure and optimize audio systems.

DSP-based configuration options the amps offer include IR HP/LP crossover filters, RMS compressor, parametric equalization (EQ), alignment delays, and white and pink noise generators.

At the heart of the ProTour line of amplifiers is a switch-mode power supply and Class D circuit that incorporates full-bandwidth PWM modulators that facilitate the amps’ operation with built-in circuit protection.

The amps’ clip/limiter function provides output monitoring to prevent speaker damage with “gentle” gain reduction at clipping thresholds, as well as heat dissipation and overheat protection.

Other options built into the amplifiers include user defined parameters, source input selection and loadable presets via the amps’ front-panel LCD screens, and Dante digital audio modules that enable primary and redundant network connectivity with the ability to monitor the products.

The Crest Audio line of ProTour Amplifiers offer a choice of these models:

ProTour 8004d: 4-channel amp with 2,000 watts per channel into 4 ohms or 70/100-volt direct drive
ProTour 5002d: 2-channel amp with 2,500 watts per channel into 4 ohms
ProTour 4004d: 4-channel amp with 1,000 watts per channel into 4 ohms
ProTour 3003d: 3-channel amp with 1,000 watts per channel into 4 ohms

Powerful processing features such as FIR filtering and Dante Networking work alongside unique enhancements including 4 local + 4 aux DSP channels (also supplied to the network), meaning a single DPA amplifier can control a stereo 4-way system with no external processing and supply audio to a Non-DSP amplifier either via analogue or a single Cat5 cable. Control via new AudioCore with advanced grouping architecture, or go wireless with our bespoke iPad app DeltaDirect. Configure and tune using a fast, powerful combination of AudioCore (XTA’s fast efficient control software platform) and DeltaDirect, the bespoke iPad app. Every aspect of a network of amplifiers can be controlled and monitored wirelessly. Direct Ethernet, USB, and RS485 control options plus configurable GPIO offer unparalleled remote  control flexibility.

Crest Audio – CKd 1204

The CKd Power Amplifiers combine the legendary overbuilt power supply design made famous by the Crest Audio Pro 200™ with NexSys® networking functionality and an ultra-lightweight class D topology. The design centers around an ultra-high efficiency amplifier output circuit that reduces weight while increasing output power, reliability and thermal efficiency. The CKd Series offers four multi-channel models to meet the needs of demanding audio installations. The CKd 1208 and CKd 1204 provide 1,250 Watts per channel in eight and four channels, respectively, while the CKd 608 and CKd 604 provide 625 Watts per channel in eight and four channels. Each amplifier channel will operate to rated power in direct 70-volt, 100-volt, 8-ohm or 4-ohm modes, configurable per channel. CKd amplifiers are networkable through Crest Audio’s Nx Dante-8™ and Nx Cobranet-8 NexSys control modules and either Crest Audio NexSys 5 or Peavey® MediaMatrix® NWare™ software programs for advanced control and audio routing. The Nx Dante-8 and Nx Cobranet-8 modules fit into the rear bay of CKd Series power amps and support all NexSys functions, DSP functions and Dante digital audio I/O (via 1 Gigabit Ethernet connection) or Cobranet digital audio I/O (via 100baseT connection). A Control Voltage input is included on each channel to allow external gain control, while the Fault output on each channel allows the CKd power amps to be wired to other monitoring systems. In addition, users can conserve energy by disabling channels that are not in use. The CKd Series includes Crest Audio's exclusive ACL™ (Active Clip Limiting), which automatically reduces gain at the onset of clipping to prevent amplifier and load damage, and IGM™ (Instantaneous Gain Modulation), which monitors load current to protect against overloading.
