Raechelle Steward describes her job as a live audio technician simply: “I’m the person that makes sure everything sounds awesome.” But it’s how she got here that tells a deeper story. Raechelle started as a percussionist at the same performing arts school as Beyoncé. There she fell in love with the art, and science, of live performances. She went on to get a degree in sociology and music recording, encountering Dante along the way and realizing her passion for live performances.

“I prefer live music and theater because those are my people. I feel like I’m part of the show too.”

Raechelle has run sound for performances in theaters, concert halls, ballrooms and corporate settings ever since. She recently toured with a candlelight orchestra, using Dante to connect and control live audio for dozens of performers each evening. Her superpower is bridging the creative and technical sides of a production.

“I used to do theater. I’m a musician. I speak that language, and I can turn around and speak the same technical language as the other engineers.”

With the Dante platform , Raechelle can pivot quickly in every kind of live situation, controlling audio remotely, essentially being in many places at once, without having to run back and forth, and without having to lay out hundreds of cables.
