Why can I not set the encryption policy of a receive channel?

Dante media encryption protects the confidentiality of a signal being sent over a Dante network. A transmit channel can have an encryption policy assigned based on the security level required for the contents of its signal being sent. Essentially, the transmit channel knows how secret its contents must remain.

Receive channels remain flexible for all levels of security and Dante media encryption capable devices will comply with any transmit channel policy.
