Using third party companion apps with Dante Director
Many third party companion applications offered by Dante device manufacturers (OEMs) communicate with Dante devices using ‘Standalone DAPI’. This is an API offered by Audinate exclusively to OEM partners for use in applications that run on Windows or Mac computers.
In a ‘managed’ environment, i.e. when the Dante devices are enrolled in Dante Director or Dante Domain Manager (DDM), all communications with devices are authenticated and logged by the device manager. As such, it is necessary to authenticate as a Director or DDM user for apps to communicate with Dante devices using Standalone DAPI.
Most third party companion applications that are compatible with DDM will also work with Dante Director.
Please use the following credentials for Dante Director:

Support for Single Sign On (SSO)
At this stage, it is not possible to use third party companion apps with a Dante Director account that is provisioned by Single Sign On (SSO), since the login credentials are only known to the identity provider (IdP).
We are working with our OEM partners to support authentication models for their apps that are compatible with SSO.
In the meantime, please request that the SSO mode on the Dante Director account is set to ‘Non-strict’, which allows the addition of non-SSO users. Non-SSO user accounts can be used to authenticate third party apps.
