Getting Started with Dante AVIO

Follow these steps to get your Dante AVIO adapters connected and routing audio quickly.

1. Connect to a Network Switch

  • Use an Ethernet cable to connect the adapter’s network port to a PoE-capable switch on your Dante network.
  • No PoE switch? Connect the adapter to a PoE injector, then connect the injector to your network switch.

2. Confirm Power and Sync Status

  • For AVIO adapters, both Ethernet LEDs (on the RJ45 port) should be green—either solid or flashing.
  • For AVIO Install adapters, the status LED on top of the unit should be solid green or blue.

3. Connect Audio Devices and Computers

  • Plug the AVIO adapter into your audio gear using the appropriate connectors (XLR, USB, or Euroblock depending on model)

4. Connect Dante Controller

  • Launch Dante Controller on a computer connected to the same network.
  • Use Dante Controller to route audio to and from your AVIO adapter and any other Dante-enabled device.

5. Check for Firmware Updates

  • In Dante Controller click Dante Updater to ensure your AVIO adapter is running the latest firmware.

6. Configure Device Settings

  • In Dante Controller, double-click your AVIO adapter in the Routing tab to open Device View.
  • Adjust device settings such as:
    • Name, Sample Rate, Bit Depth, and Latency (Device Config tab)
    • IP Address (Network Config tab)
    • Audio Controls (Controls tab)
