Does Dante media encryption require Dante Director / Dante Domain Manager?

Yes. Dante media encryption is built upon the security foundations provided by a managed Dante network. These foundations include device authentication that prevents rogue endpoints from being introduced into a network, and user roles and authentication that ensure only approved users can make changes to the network.

Dante media encryption also uses the Domain manager to securely generate, distribute and rotate encryption keys. As such, Dante media encryption does not rely on individually entering passphrases into each endpoint, which could be compromised through user error.
