When to Use Clocking Zones
Clocking Zones should only be used when setting up multi-subnet domains that sync to a shared non-local, non-Dante clock source – for example GPS. Typically Zones are used when sending Dante audio over long distances where sync with network clock (PTP) between subnets is unstable or not possible.
Most multi-subnet domains should be configured using a unicast boundary clock device in each subnet to distribute network clock (PTP) between subnets.
For more information see About Zones in the Dante Domain Managers User Guide.
