Dante AVIO AES3 I/O Adapter (ADP-AES3-AU-2X2) Firmware v4.2.3.5

Download the latest Dante AVIO firmware with Dante Updater.

This is an important maintenance release that improves support for managed devices in Dante Director networks.

  • HD-1731: For devices on pre-FQDN-support firmware (e.g. v4.2.1.x), if the device is upgraded in unmanaged mode, enrolled in a Dante Domain and then rebooted, the device will revert to unmanaged mode.
  • ETS-4712: When the device is connected to certain switches (e.g. Netgear M4250), an IGMP membership query sent by the device will cause the device to overwrite its ARP table with the MAC address of the switch. This results in the device sending UDP/IP packets to a device in a different subnet with an incorrect destination MAC address.
  • HD-1878 / ETS-5079: The device is not able to discover a DDM via DNS if the device and the DDM are on different DNS domains.
  • HD-1501: When the device is downgraded to the previous GA, it loses part of its persistence storage, including DDM credentials and DDM IP and port info. Workaround: Re-apply configuration settings that were lost after the downgrade.
  • CLOUD-1598: This is not a device side issue: This also applies if the device is manually enrolled in the DDM. After an upgrade, until the device is explicitly told about the DDM/Cloud FQDN the device will not be aware of it. Workaround: (1) Clear config and manually re-enroll; or (2) Unenroll, and use Dante Controller to manually enroll all devices.
  • HD-1502: This is not a device side issue: After upgrading from the previous GA (4.1.x), the local controller permissions are set to Prevent. The previous GA had incorrectly set the local controller permissions to NOACCESS. The new firmware sets the permissions to READWRITE. However, after the upgrade to the latest, the DDM is not automatically setting the local controller permissions to the correct setting. Workaround: (1) Change the local controller permissions in the UI to ‘Allow’; or (2) Unenroll and re-enroll and the DDM should set the local controller permissions back to ‘Allow’ in the UI.
  • TRID-581: No audio / interrupted audio from mobile device if the device is powered on from a cold start while the AVIO USB-C adapter is connected. Workaround: Disconnect the adapter from the mobile device, and reconnect it.

Audinate’s Support for Inclusive Language

To our customers: some of the terminology used in Dante products has been changed to align with modern usage. Specifically, areas related to Dante clocking now refer to “Primary Leader Clock”, “Leader Clocks” and “Follower Clocks” to describe the functions of each role more clearly.
